Database Coordinator:
Randy Wood The Randymon was an environment volunteer
from '98 to '00 in the wilds of Esteli. His site description had a typo
in it: tiny little San Diego, Esteli wasn't a town of 3500; it was a town
of 350. He spent half his time further up in the hills in El Hato (pop.
150) and El Aguacate (pop. 100), teaching soil conservation and giving the
ocassional charla in the school system. He stayed on after Peace Corps
to work with the Corps of Engineers and write a travel guidebook with
fellow PCV Josue Berman. Randy and his Nicaraguan wife Ericka currently live in
south Florida, where the frijoles are called sushi and the donkeys are
called "Audi." His web site is http://www.therandymon.com, showcasing
pics of Nicaragua, his and Ericka's wedding, and some other topics of
interest.
Electronic Media Coordinator
Andrew 'Enrique' Middleton was an environment volunteer from '94 to '96 in
the coastal town of Puerto Cabezas (known locally as Port). Aside from the fact
that this town sits within the borders of Nicaragua, there is really very little
similarity with the Pacific coast of the country. English is spoken frequently, with
a jamaican accent, and reggae is the music of choice. When he wasn't getting a tan on the
beach, Andrew spent most of his time working in the communities of Wawa, Haul Over, Wounta, and
Tasba Pahuni. He speaks a little Miskito and digs Dimension Costeņa, a band from the area.
Andrew and his Nica esposa, are living in the Takoma Park / Langley Park crossroads of Maryland,
where you can buy fresh guajada and red beans, should your supply run out, give him a call.
Treasurer
Originally from South Carolina, Marty Clifford served
as a Nica 3 volunteer from '93-'95 in Masachapa,
struggling valiantly to re-organize a fishing
co-operative. After returning, he receieved an M.A.
from Ohio university, briefly worked at a brokerage
firm, then returned to work for a small company in
Nicaragua in 1998 for several months. From this he
learned that international business was the place to be
and went on to receive an IMBA from the University of
South Carolina and has been a corporate finance
warrior for that last 2 and half years for BellSouth.
He spends his spare time making wine with his

Secretary
David Hiegel was one of the fifteen volunteers who restarted Peace Corps Nicaragua in January 1992 after training in Honduras. In those days, Nica PCVs received assignments in or near Managua; a security precaution just in case a PC evacuation was ordered. David volunteered for two years at the Centro Juvenile Don Bosco in Managua where he and his Nicaraguan counterpart Victor established and tought a six-month construction course for teenagers at the Voc. Ed. school. One of David's favorite PCV highlights was an orphanage renovation project that was done as a class project using materials bought through a small grant received through PC Nica. David is a founding member of Amigos de Nicaragua. Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, David is a graduate of Notre Dame (Go Irish!); BA Psychology, 1983. David also holds a MBA and a MPA (both from City University, Bellevue, WA, 1997). He currently works for FEMA Region 6 in Denton, TX where he has been assigned to look after matters of floodplain management in Louisiana. His wife Cindy, also an Arkansan, manages a research laboratoy at Texas Women University in Denton.
